The remake of the 1984 film, "Footloose" starring Kevin Bacon finally has a lead. His name is Kenny Wormald, and he is fairly unknown, this could be his big break as "Footloose" was Bacon's big break. Also starring in this remake is Dennis Quaid and Julianne Hough. More Wizard of Oz projects are in the works

Supposedly there are a number of "Wizard of Oz" projects in the works right now all set to come out in the next few years. We just heard about Sam Raimi directing Robert Downey Jr. in the prequel "Oz, the Great and Powerful" there is also an animated version and now one from Mark and Michael Polish with a film simply titled "Oz." They released a teaser trailer for the film and you can check it out below:

What do you think? I think it looks interesting especially with a real lion, I wonder how they'll do that.

It has been confirmed!

It has been confirmed that Sam Raimi will direct the Disney "Wizard of Oz" prequel, "Oz, The Great and Powerful" starring Robert Downey Jr. in the title role. A number of directors have been linked to this film, but after Guillermo del Toro and Sam Mendes didn't want it, the project was given to Sam Raimi, which will be his first directorial debut since leaving the film, "Spiderman 4."
What do you think of an Oz prequel? What do you think about Raimi directing it?

Another Remake

The Mark Gordon Company is producing a remake for the 1991 classic film, "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead" and is currently looking for writers. Christina Applegate starred in the original as a 17 year old whose mom went off to Austrailia for the summer and left the babysitter in charge of her and her 3 siblings, but when the babysitter dies, Applegate has to go out get a job and keep her siblings in line before her mom comes home.

I really hope this doesn't happen, who would play Applegate's Sue Ellen role?? What do you think of this remake?

First official photo from "The Tourist"

Here is the first official photo from the film "The Tourist" starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Opens in theaters February 16, 2011.

Saving Private Ryan

Oh my God. Wow. If you are looking for a powerful World War 2 film, "Saving Private Ryan" should be the next movie on your netflix. The 1998 epic film directed by Steven Spielberg is beyond unbelievable. Emotions run high as soon as you press the play button. Tom Hanks stars as Captain John H. Miller who is in charge of 7 other men, to go on a mission to save one soldier, Private Ryan, who is played by Matt Damon. Private Ryan's brothers were all killed in combat, and if one brother is still alive they send them home so the parents still have one child. But saving Private Ryan is no easy feat, but going on this journey and watching the story unfold on screen is captivating and empowering.

Noises Off

The 1992 Peter Bogdanovich film, "Noises Off" is based off the hilarious play written by Michael Frayn. It's about a bunch of misfit actors striving to make it to Broadway in their play entitled "Nothing On." All the characters have drama and personal baggage and they perform night after night in different cities for months and each show is a riot. The film stars a lot of great actors such as Michael Caine, John Ritter, Christopher Reeve, Nicollette Sheridan, Marilu Henner and Carol Burnett.

Get Him to the Greek

The Jonah Hill/Russell Brand comedy "Get Him to the Greek" was not as good or as funny as everyone is making it seem. Russell Brand brings back his character from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" as Aldous Snow while Jonah Hill portrays a completely different character from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and portrays Aaron Green. The entire movie is based on Aaron Green trying to get this famous rock star Aldous Stone to play this one show that will hopefully be a career comeback for him after he destroyed his whole life with just one bad single entitled "African Child."

Angelina the next Cleopatra

Angelina Jolie is in the works of portraying the legendary Eqyptian Queen Cleopatra. Producer Scott Rudin has confirmed that the film is "being developed for and with Jolie." The film is based on author Stacy Schiff's biography "Cleopatra: A Life."  Jolie isn't the first to portray the Egyptian beauty, Elizabeth Taylor portrayed her in the 1963 film "Cleopatra" with husband Richard Burton as Mark Antony.

Beastly pushed back

Vanessa Hudgens' film "Beastly" which is a modern take on Beauty and the Beast has been pushed back to March 18, 2011. It orginally was set to open on July 30th but when her boyfriend and High School Musical co-star Zac Efron's latest film "Charlie St. Cloud" was pushed up from October to July 30th CBS Films decided to pull "Beastly" out and push it back to March. One week before her Zack Snyder film, "Sucker Punch" premieres. Her film "Beastly" will have to compete with Johnny Depp's cartoon film "Rango" and a thriller starring Bradley Cooper entitled "The Dark Fields" but I guess that's better than competing against her boyfriend Zac Efron for the weekend box office.

Entourage Movie

Mark Wahlberg was asked at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night if he has considered making a film into his HBO comedy "Entourage" and here is what he had to say, "I am more focused on making that movie than my own films," Wahlberg said. "I just think we can make a great movie. I think people always wanted [it] and have complained that the episodes are too short — they've always wanted more. I think we're going to do it. I think we're going to do it. We just have to end strong, and this season is, by far, the best season so far," he said. "We're going to have six episodes next year and end with a bang and then in the trailer you see [Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) and his associate, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas not knowing what happened."

Sounds good, does anyone watch "Entourage"? If not you definitely should check it out because it's hysterical and pretty awesome.

Les Grossman...

Les Grossman the character Tom Cruise portrayed in the comedy "Tropic Thunder" and made a few skits in the recent MTV movie awards the other night, may be getting his very own movie. When asked about it, Cruise responded with, "“We’re working on it. Yup, we’re definitely working on it.” Has Hollywood gone completely desperate? Does anyone else agree that this is the worst idea ever? His character in "Tropic Thunder" was only seen for a short time because he is too big of a character, a whole 90 minutes or more of this screaming, angry, fat bald guy would be a huge huge mistake.

.<--------90 minutes or more of this guy and it will bomb at the box office guaranteed. What do you all think?

It has been confirmed that both Stanley Tucci and Neal McDonough will be in "Captain America: The First Avenger" appearing alongside Chris Evans. Tucci has been cast as Dr Abraham Erskine, who appeared in the original comics as a German scientist who creates Project Rebirth – the top secret experiment that resulted in the creation of super soldier Captain America. McDonough, meanwhile, confirmed that he will be playing Dum Dum Dugan in the comic movie adaptation.

Transformers 3 Still

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has already been spotted on Michael Bay's "Transformer's 3" set.

Behind the Scenes of Inception!!!

Warner Bros. Pictures recently revealed this behind the scenes featurette of the highly anticipated film, "Inception" with Christopher Nolan and his lead actor Leonardo DiCaprio. I don't know how to stress it enough...this film looks amazing and I cannot wait for it!!!

Deleted Goonies Scene

If you're kid from the 80s you definitely remember the classic 1985 film, "The Goonies" (one of my all time favorites) starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin and Corey Feldman. To mark the 25th anniversary of the film, thousands of fans and original cast members made the trip up to Astoria, Oregon, where much of the film was shot, to celebrate the Goonies' never-say-die attitude. During the celebration fans were rewarded with a 30 minute documentary of the film and it was revealed that there was an alternate ending and the fact that Spielberg himself originally filmed a scene involving two escaped gorillas that steal a "red convertible and go tooling around town," according to the film's director, Richard Donner. But there was also another deleted scene involving a mechanical octopus. Check it out below!
