Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Events!!!

'Back to the Future' the first film in the classic trilogy which stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd will be celebrating it's 25th anniversary. I can't believe it's been 25 years! If you live in Los Angeles, you are in luck because from November 5-12, fellow 'Back to the Future' fans are going to join together to re-create Marty Mcfly’s week in 1955 and some of the cast and crew of the films will be there and you’ll be able to:


watch a screening of the film at the original Twin/Lone Pine mall

visit the original filming locations

get up close to some time machine DeLoreans

check out some of the props of the original film

ride a hover board

attend a full re-creation of the “Enchantment Under the Sea Dance”

The Kids Are All Right

'The Kids Are All Right' is written and directed by Lisa Cholodenko and stars Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo and Anette Benning. The film centers around a lesbian couple, Nic(Bening) and Jules(Moore) and their two children they had through artificial insemination. When their eldest child, Jonie(Mia Wasikowska) turns 18 her younger brother Lazor (Josh Hutcherson) asks her to find their biological father(Ruffalo). Jonie and Lazor find their dad, Paul(Ruffalo) through the sperm bank he donated to 19 years ago and realize they want to spend more time with him, if their moms agree. As Paul becomes more in their life things begin to change, will it destroy everything or could it be the start of something new?

Catfish Trailer!!!

I saw this preview the other day when I saw 'The Kids Are All Right' (which a review will be up shortly for that film) and this preview starts out somewhat light and comical and gets a little freaky in the end. I'm beyond intrigued. Check it out below and tell me what you think!!!

X-Men First Class News!!!

Details on the latest 'X-Men' film, 'X-Men First Class' have surfaced. If you wish not to know about the film, please stop reading now. The film is to take place in the 1960s with JFK as president and the look of the film is supposed to mimic that of the original X-Men costumes than previous films have, though the film's chronology pre-dates the First Class story in the comics, meaning that many of the expected characters (Cyclops and Marvel Girl are listed by name) will not appear.

The rumored villian is said to be Sebastian Shaw (played by Kevin Bacon). January Jones's Emma Frost will appear as the Hellfire Club's White Queen as well.
The central focus of the film is the friendship between Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Eric Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) and how it falls apart.
X-Men: First Class is slated to hit theaters on June 3, 2011.

Avatar News!!!

Don't forget this Friday, August 27th James Cameron's 'Avatar' will be playing in select theaters with an additional 8.5 minutes of never before seen footage! Also, the dvd/blu ray special edition of 'Avatar' will have an additional 16 minutes of never before seen footage! If you still have not seen 'Avatar' in the theaters, I highly recommend you see it while you still can! It's a great movie and it's visually mind-blowing, so seeing it in 3D in IMAX is incredible and strongly suggested!!!

'Scott Pilgrim vs.The World' is directed by Edgar Wright and stars Michael Cera in the title role. Scott Pilgrim is a geeky, talented guitar player that meets the actual girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). She's mysterious and intriguing to Scott and he believes she is the one.  But the only way for Scott to be with Ramona is if he defeats her 7 evil exes. Can victory be his and win her over or will it be a pathetic, epic failure?

Kicking and Screaming!!!

The 2005 Will Ferrell soccer film, 'Kicking and Screaming' did not get the recognition it deserved! This film is comical, heartwarming and Will Ferrell plays a somewhat relatable guy, which in most cases doesn't happen often. Will Ferrell plays Phil Weston a smart, calm, pushover who has problems standing up to his insensitive, aggressive father Buck (Robert Duvall). Phil used to play for his father's soccer team when he was a child and his own father made him a 'benchwarmer.' But, now that Phil is older, married and has a son Sam(Dylan McLaughlin) things are a little different. This time, poor Sam is the benchwarmer for his grandpa's team. When Buck trades his own grandson, Phil steps up and decides to help Sam have fun playing soccer instead of sitting the bench, by filling in as his soccer coach of his new team. But, things don't go exactly as planned.

Own Star Wars on Blu-Ray!!!

Today, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox have officially announced that all six Star Wars films will arrive on the Blu-Ray format in Fall 2011 as a commemorative box set!!!


It promises "the highest possible picture and audio presentation, along with extensive special features – including documentaries, vintage behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, retrospectives and never-before-seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives."
“Blu-ray is the absolute best way to experience Star Wars at home – in pristine high definition,” said George Lucas of the release, “The films have never looked or sounded better.”
The New York Times is reporting that the set will include only the updated versions of the original trilogy. "[W]hen we did the transfer to digital," Lucas is quoted as saying, "we only transferred really the upgraded version.”

John Belushi Biopic

Steven Conrad will write and Todd Phillips will produce a biopic of the late comedian, John Belushi. John Belsuhi was most famous for his skits on Saturday Nite Live and for starring in a number of comedies ('Animal House' being the number one movie in America in 1978). Belushi died of a drug overdose in 1982 at the young age of 33.
Belushi's widow, Judith will be an executive producer on the project, as Judith Belushi Pisano (she's since remarried).

'The Avengers' is directed by Joss Whedon, the anticipated film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye,  and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.

Kindergarten Cop

The 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger classic, 'Kindergarten Cop' is a film for all ages. Schwarzenegger portrays Detective John Kimble, a tough police officer who has been trying to catch a drug dealer for 4 years. After finally getting some answers and finding out where the drug dealer's ex-wife and son, Dominic are hiding out, he goes undercover as the boy's kindergarten teacher.

Avatar News!!!

Director James Cameron recently stated in an interview, that he wants to turn Avatar into a novel, something he wanted to do during post-production but couldn't because of time constraints. He also said that he won't start writing on the scripts for Avatar 2 and 3 until the deal with 20th Century Fox are locked in. He wants to try and film both films back-to-back. Spider-Man Project and Men in Black III Dates!!!

The Untitled Spider-Man project directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield in the title role will begin shooting December in Los Angeles, with a release date of July 3, 2012.

Barry Sonnenfield's 'Men in Black III' will be filming in New York starting in September with a release date of May 25, 2012. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will be back to star in the 3rd installment.

Looks like 2012 will be a big year for movies! What do you think?
