Summer Movies Outside!!!

Summer is finally here! So here is a list of different cities that hold movies outside! Check it out!


ATLANTA
Free movies will be shown at various locations throughout the city during the summer.
Atlantic Station: Movies at the Market
This festival airs blockbuster favorites outdoors each Thursday night in Central Park at 8:15PM.


June 3: 'The Karate Kid'
June 10: 'The Great Race'
June 17: 'Back to the Future'
June 24: 'Mamma Mia!'
July 1: 'Grease'
July 8: 'Singing in the Rain'

Piedmont Park: Screen on The Green
The series shows movies at dusk and asks moviegoers to bring food, chairs and blankets, but to leave glass bottles and pets at home.

June 17: 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope'
June 24: 'Jurassic Park'


Mall of Georgia: Movies Under The Stars
Movies are every Saturday at 6:30PM and kick off with live music beforehand. Kids are welcome and are able to get prizes from a prize wheel before the movie.

June 19: 'The Tooth Fairy'
June 26: 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs'
July 4: 'Transformers'

W Perimeter Hotel: Dive-In Movie
The hotel will screen beloved movies of past and present for free, poolside at the Wet Deck beginning around 8PM.

AUSTIN


Movie fans can vote for what flicks they'll watch this summer in Austin at 101X's "Revenge of the Movie." The free films will be shown on Wednesday nights at Central Market (40th and N. Lamar) starting June 16. Check here to vote each week and round out the station's summer movie festival.

BOSTON


If you're looking for some free classic movies by moonlight, look no further than the Boston Harbor Hotel's summer series by the same name. Free movies, most celebrating old Hollywood, can be seen every Friday at sunset starting June 18 until September 3. The view from the Rowes Wharf Sea Grille provides a beautiful backdrop -- and a place to order food.

Syfy Presents Brooklyn Bridge's Movies With A View this year on the newly opened Pier 1. The outdoor film series begins at 8PM preceded by live music at 6PM.

Movies are shown outside on the Infinity Park Jumbotron in Glendale for Monday Movie Madness. Gates open at 7PM. Free movies will start at 8PM. People can bring blankets, picnic baskets, etc. (no alcohol or pets).

LA's Cinespia lets moviegoers watch a movie in a cemetery on summer Saturdays. Bring a picnic basket, a blanket and alcohol, but not a pet. Gates open at 7PM and the movies start at 8:30PM. at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The screenings are free, but a $10 donation ticket is available at the gate.

The 2010 Bryant Park Film Festival shows classic films on Mondays in the park between 40th and 42nd Streets. The park opens at 5PM, and films start rolling about a half hour after that. Bring a blanket or watch from one of 4,000 lawn chairs set up on the sidelines.

Free flicks are shown every Wednesday as part of the annual Summer Screen series. This year's theme is "The Future Is Now," and the series will be running films "that grapple with the future or the element of time" -- which, unlike the James Bond and rockumentary themes of summers past, translates into a wide-ranging lineup featuring cult mindbenders 'Logan's Run' and 'Donnie Darko' alongside kid-friendly fare like 'ET' and Back to the Future.' The screenings will begin at 9PM and be held on L St. in between 2nd and 3rd Streets NE.
