Saiorse Ronan, Eric Bana, and Cate Blanchett star in a fast paced, suspenseful thriller entitled 'Hanna.' The film is directed by Joe Wright and written by Seth Lochhead and David Farr. Ronan portrays the title character as this beautiful, wild fearless teenager that trains with her father, Erik (Bana), to become a strong powerful assassin that will have to take on many men, and one ruthless intelligence agent, Marissa, (Blanchett). After Hanna claims she is ready and prepared, she seeks out a way to have Marissa hunt her down. But, when Marissa finally finds Hanna, she'll stop at nothing to destroy her. Can Hanna succeed in fighting off Marissa or will Hanna's short life come to a tragic end??
'Hanna' was truly fascinating. The storyline was unique, but still easy to follow. 'Hanna' was a film that kept me wanting more; as soon as it ended I wanted and needed more.
Saiorse Ronan was truly remarkable in her role as Hanna. She was brilliant, if the Academy recognized roles such as these, and this early in the year she would be nominated. She was perfect in portraying a teenage girl that was obviously a little different and a little awkward. She was incredibly smart and confident which made her character even more believable. Her character was sheltered for most of her life and when she discovers electricity and other normal, basic necessities most of us are privileged to have, she reacts perfectly. It was as though she was discovering everything for the very first time, just like a baby. I couldn't believe her strength and control of moving this entire film along. She was the reason why I loved 'Hanna' as much as I did. She was amazing and completely underrated. Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett were great in their roles, but their performances didn't stick out like Ronan's did.
The shots in this film were beautiful. There are some scenes that are quite gory and violent. But, I would recommend this film to anyone who enjoys action packed thrillers with a badass teenage girl who fights solely to survive. Check out 'Hanna'!!!
