Horrible Bosses Review for Blu-Ray Elite!!!

Comedies nowadays are becoming more and more vulgar, raunchy and crude. The latest blu-ray Warner Bros. sent me was Horrible Bosses starring Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston. The film is extremely funny, if you enjoy the kind of gross humor the film portrays. Horrible Bosses focuses on three best friends that actually enjoy their jobs but loathe their managers. They come up with a plan that in order to make their lives better and truly love their jobs is to murder their bosses.

Horrible Bosses in my opinion is hilarious. It’s inappropriate, it’s witty and it’s fun. The three main characters Dale (Day), Nick (Bateman) and Kurt (Sudeikis) have great chemistry together and their scenes are the funniest. Spacey is terrific as the over the top jerk boss of Nick’s office, Dave Harkin. He plays the character everyone loves to hate. He’s sarcastic, rude and insensitive and Spacey is fantastic in the role. Farrell was nearly unrecognizable with his balding head and thin frame. He portrays Bobby Pellitt, Kurt’s new boss, who is a drug addict that just wants to run the show. Farrell is also inappropriate with most of his comments and is hilarious in this completely different role. Jennifer Aniston was phenomenal. She broke out of her rom-com shell and took on a role outside of her comfort zone and delivered a fine performance. She portrays Julia Harris, the dentist Dale works for and the entire movie she just wants to sabotage Dale and does everything in her power to seduce and sleep with him. She’s raunchy and dirty and it’s great to see her in something new for a change. Overall, the acting in the film was great; everyone was funny and made the audience truly feel the sorrow and frustrations these poor guys have to deal with on a day to day basis.

The premise of the film is awesome. Everyone in their lifetime, I’m sure has had to deal with people in a higher position that they cannot stand and would love it if their boss just left to make their lives better. This film is for all those people, twisted into ridiculous scenarios and witty comedy.  Horrible Bosses is highly recommended for anyone who loves crude comedies, filled with great actors and wild adventures that anyone could enjoy. Also check out the blu-ray for the wide array of special features and the ‘totally inappropriate edition’ disc that wasn’t shown in theaters!
