Forecast bright in 'Silver Linings Playbook'

The word excelsior in the dictionary is defined as ‘higher’or 'more elevated' and in the film ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ it is described as the act of thinking positive and looking for the silver lining in everything. Pat Solitano (portrayed by Bradley Cooper) is struggling to cope with the fact that his marriage is over. The film opens with Pat in a mental institution and his mother picking him up and finally bringing him home after being away for eight months. Pat suffers from bipolar disorder and mood swings. He walked in on his wife having an affair and nearly beat her lover to death, thus forcing him to be put into a mental hospital and to learn that in every negative situation there is always a silver lining. When Pat returns home, he moves back in with his parents and is obsessed with reuniting with his wife Nikki, although she has a restraining order against him. Life for Pat begins to change when he meets Tiffany (portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious young woman with similar problems of her own.

'Life' is rough but beautiful in 'Life of Pi'

Imagine a life where being lost in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, stranded in a tiny lifeboat with a 450 pound Bengal tiger is an everyday routine. Meet Pi Patel, (portrayed by Suraj Sharma) the young courageous, religious boy who believed in everything. His father was a zookeeper and forced his family to move to Canada by boat. The boat, had a crew and tons of different animals, some were vicious. One night, during a horrific storm, the boat crashes and Pi strives to save his family. He runs to the outside of the boat and is thrown into a lifeboat with a zebra, and another man. The water deemed to rough, propelled the other man out of the boat and sends Pi off into the middle of the ocean. Since it was nighttime, Pi couldn’t see, he helped an orangutan aboard the boat and in the distance saw an animal swimming to come aboard. Not being able to see he is blindly helping this animal up onto the boat, until he sees it’s Richard Parker, the 450 pound Bengal tiger that he witnessed days prior attack and kill an innocent goat. Fearfully shooing the tiger away, but it was too late, he climbed aboard. And thus, the story of ‘Life of Pi’ begins to unfold on this epic, extraordinary adventure.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 disappoints

For the past four years, stars Kristen StewartRobert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner graced film screens everywhere to emulate the love story author, Stephenie Meyer created based off a dream she experienced one night. That story has finally come to an end, and the reviews for the latest film, ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2’ are mixed. The final film in the mega hit franchise is centered on Bella (Stewart) and Edward’s (Pattinson) half human half vampire child, Renesmee (portrayed byMackenzie Foy). One day Bella, Jacob and Renesmee are outside catching snowflakes when vampire, Irina (portrayed by Maggie Grace) spots them and reports to the Volturi-the most powerful coven of vampires- claiming Renesmee is an immortal child. The Volturi destroy immortal children because of their destructive past. Bella, Edward and the rest of the vampires and werewolves have to devise a plan to convince the Volturi that Renesmee is not a harm to the outside world and she is in fact a mortal child. Can the Cullens save their newest kin or will the Volturi be too strong and powerful to defeat?

The film centers on a list of secret agent names that have been stolen. Bond’s mission goes awry when he locates the person with the list and they both wind up fighting on top of a moving train. Another secret agent, Eve (portrayed by Naomie Harris) claims she has a shot of the thief but it’s not clear, M (Dench) forces her to take the shot. The shot hits Bond and he plummets into the ocean.
