Bobby!!!

Writer and director, Emilio Estevez created a powerful film entitled, 'Bobby' based on true facts about the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy. The film is filled with big name stars and delivers an incredible message to it's viewers.

This film was brilliant. Estevez did a remarkable job writing and directing a story based on Senator R.F.K.'s assassination seen through the eyes of the people surrounding him. What I loved most about 'Bobby' is that it stars Emilio Estevez, Joshua Jackson, Sharon Stone, Christian Slater, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Martin Sheen, Elijah Wood, Lindsay Lohan, William H. Macy, Laurence Fishburne, Shia LaBeouf, Anthony Hopkins and the list goes on, but not only did these major stars play a role in the film they were an ensemble, no one stood out more than anyone else and their characters were all interconnected. I enjoyed watching how each character's storyline was quite crucial to the plot. There were characters that are dealing with heartache, some with love, some just getting high, some dealing with the struggles of racism and some just trying to get through to the next day. But, what was so powerful is how so many people came together the night he was shot. How people's life changed in just an instant because of one man. Because of one man's visions and hopes for the future.

The entire movie takes place on one day and in one place, June 4, 1968 and at the Ambassador Hotel, the location where the real R.F.K was shot. The acting was great, everyone held their own and to be quite honest the one person that stood out for me more than any other was Freddy Rodriquez's performance as Jose. I thought he was excellent and he was one of the only few people in this film that was an unknown to me. I could go down the list praising every actor in the film but that would take forever. But Rodriquez really stood out to me.

I really loved the fact that Estevez didn't have anyone portray R.F.K. The only time you ever really see the Senator is when he was shown on television which is actually live footage from the 1960s. I thought that was truly unique and a genius idea.  He then decided to show the actors in the film see the events occur and then cut to the reactions of what people in real life went through which was unbelievable.

I highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a film engulfed with power, an enlightening message and an abundance of great actors. If you have seen 'Bobby' please share your thoughts and opinions!!!
