Welcome to The Movie Diaries, the blog that I try to assist fellow movie goers to pick and choose a great movie to see that is either in theaters, on Netflix, or already on television or dvd. I love movies and everything that comes along with them so please read my reviews, check out some of the links, and feel free to leave any comments, questions or concerns I look forward to hearing other people's opinions on movies. -Dorothy Gale

River Phoenix's final film 'Dark Blood' to be released!!!
On September 27, 2012 at the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht, Netherlands River Phoenix's final film, 'Dark Blood' will finally be viewed by an invited only audience.
The film is centered around Boy(Phoenix) a widowed hermit, who lives on a nuclear testing site awaiting the end of the world. As he waits he creates these dolls that he believes have magical powers. The film had 11 days left of production when Phoenix tragically died. It was put on hold and never worked on until last year when director George Sluizer claimed he saved the film after fearing it would be destroyed and began editing it with a hopeful release in 2012. The film was written by Jim Barton, and stars River Phoenix, Jonathan Pryce, and Judy Davis. Phoenix's younger brother, the Academy Award Nominee Joaquin Phoenix lent his voice to the film because Sluizer believed they sounded 'alike.' There is no guarantee the film will have a theatrical or DVD release, but all are excited for the reviews and critiques of a film that has taken nearly twenty years to be viewed.
On October 31, 1993 up and coming actor, River Phoenix tragically died of drug-induced heart failure outside Johnny Depp's nightclub, The Viper Room. Phoenix, at just 23 years old already had an impressive resume of films, including 'Stand By Me' and 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'. Phoenix was multi-talented, he was not only an actor, but a musician and a dedicated animal-rights activist and environmentalist. Check out the trailer for 'Dark Blood' below!!!

Finding Nemo Splashes into Theaters in 3D!!!
The first time the Academy Award winning film, 'Finding Nemo'
graced the big screen was nearly ten years ago, and warmed the hearts of
families everywhere. For the first time since it debuted in theaters in 2003,
the little clownfish Nemo is back and better than ever in 3D.
The film centers around a clownfish named Nemo
(voiced by Alexander
Gould) that has a small fin but a big attitude. One morning he decides to
test his father, Marlin, (voiced by Albert Brooks) and
unfortunately gets lost and captured in the Great Barrier Reef to Sydney. Nemo
is nowhere to be found, and Marlin goes on a heroic quest to find the only thing
that matters to him in the world, his son. On his adventurous journey he meets
Dory (Ellen
DeGeneres) and she helps him search for Nemo.
'Finding Nemo' is a fun, heartwarming film that the
whole family can enjoy. It’s funny, sweet and now in theaters for a limited time
in 3D. Check it out in a theater near you!!!
