Dorothy's Picks for the 2013 Oscars!!!

Award season is coming to an end and with the final and most prestigious awards, the 85th annual Academy Awards, airing Sunday night I decided to compile a list of who I believe should take home the prominent Oscar statue.

First up, Best Supporting Actress:

Although I'm not a fan of Anne Hathaway, and don't completely agree that she should take home the Oscar, she has been getting a lot of praise for her performance in the musical 'Les Miserables.' She's had an incredible year, first co-starring in one of the biggest films of the year 'The Dark Knight Rises' and then garnering a Golden Globe, a SAG award and snagging an Academy Award nod. for her tragic emotional performance in 'Les Miserables.' Let's see what happens tomorrow night!

Best Supporting Actor

Christoph Waltz is a fantastic actor, he earned his first Academy Award for another controversial Quentin Tarantino film, 'Inglorious Basterds' and now gaining a nomination for his awesome performance as a bounty hunter in Tarantino's latest flick 'Django Unchained.' Although Tommy Lee Jones has also been getting praise for his performance in Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln' I'm hoping Waltz takes the golden boy home!

Best Director

This award could really go to anyone, but I firmly believe Ang Lee deserves the Oscar for his vision of 'Life of Pi.' The film is beautifully shot, the cinematography, and the CGI and special effects are incredible. Rooting for Lee tomorrow!

Best Actress

Jennifer Lawrence has the Golden Globe and SAG award under her belt this award season, the next one up is the Oscars. She did an amazing job in 'Silver Linings Playbook' and it's truly inspiring to see such a young actress achieve as much as she has thus far. Let's go JLaw!

Best Actor

This one is a no-brainer. Everyone in the Best Actor category is phenomenal, but there is no one that can morph into a character better than the legend that is Daniel Day Lewis. I think he should win for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in 'Lincoln.'

Best Picture

And last but certainly not least, my pick for Best Picture should go to Ben Affleck's 'Argo.' This film contained everything a movie should comedy, drama, suspense, thrill, love and it's a double bonus when it's based off a true story. Affleck got snubbed in the Best Director category and I'd hate to see his film get snubbed for Best Picture. He deserves the Oscar!

Who do you think will take home this year's Oscars???
