Date Night

"Date Night" stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell as married couple Claire and Phil Foster with 2 children. They have a house in New Jersey and have boring jobs and boring lives. Every so often, they have one night out, a 'date night' where they go to the same place and order the same food. After realizing that they need some excitement and passion in their relationship, they decide that instead of doing their same routine on their dates, they will go out for a nice dinner in New York City. But, of course their night doesn't go exactly as planned and its beyond exciting and even quite adventurous.

How to Train your Dragon 2???

The Dreamwork's animation picture, "How to Train your Dragon" has grossed $180 million so far and returned to the number 1 spot in the box office this weekend. It was announced today that Dreamworks is making a sequel to the film, in 3D of course, and hopes to release it in 2013. I'm excited, the first one was awesome! What do you think?

Chis Nolan's Inception Research Footage

Directer Christopher Nolan's latest film, "Inception" is an absolute mystery. No one really knows what it's all about. But, apparently Nolan did some extensive research for this film that supposedly deals with people's dreams. After I heard that, now I really want to see this film. Dreams, to me, are incredibly fascinating and now I'm beyond intrigued. Below is a video of some of his research for this film.

New Toy Story 3 Poster!!!

Below is the new poster for the film, "Toy Story 3" which opens in theaters June 18!!!

Ridley Scott directing prequels!!!

Director Ridley Scott will be directing prequels to his 1979 "Alien" film. There will be 2 prequels, the first film is in it's 4th draft and has a planned release date of either late 2011 or early 2012. The films, will of course be shot in 3D. They will take place before the events of Scott's "Alien" film, in which the crew of a commercial towing ship respond to a distress signal from an empty ship, only to discover too late that the signal was meant to warn them. This will be Scott's first sci-fi film since his 1982 "Blade Runner" film. What do you think? Will you check it out?

Buried

Ryan Reynolds is starring in a new film, entitled "Buried." Where he plays a man that gets buried alive by Iraqi fighters and only has 90 minutes to get out. All he has with him are his cell phone and lighter. It sounds really scary and crazy. Below is a poster for the film with Ryan Reynolds holding up his lighter. The film comes out in October, will you see it?

During their mission they realize they were set up by a powerful enemy that only goes by the name "Max" (Jason Patric). After the mission goes awry the members make it look like they had died in a wreckage and presumed dead. After months pass, Clay meets a gorgeous woman named Aisha(Zoe Saldana) who wants revenge on Max just as much as the rest of the guys. They set up a plan to get their revenge and attempt to strike back.

Iron Man 2 is dedicated to DJ AM

The film, "Iron Man 2" directed by Jon Favreau and starring Robert Downey Jr. is dedicated to the late DJ, Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM. Goldstein has a small cameo in the film and Favreau said in a recent statement about Goldstein, "Our heart goes out to his family and friends and we hope what we've done is pleasing to them and to the many, many people who held Adam in high regard." Goldstein died last August of an accidental overdose.

Sam Mendez, RDJ and The Wizard of Oz?????

There is a project entitled, "OZ the Great and Powerful" which is written by Mitchell Kapner who originally titled it "Brick" that may have Sam Mendez as the director and Robert Downey Jr. as the Wizard. The project is based off several pieces of L. Frank Baum's other books on OZ and other original ideas he had. It's about how the Wizard is part of a traveling circus and goes through some sort of journey that mysteriously lands him in OZ. There are quite a few "Oz" projects circling right now. One, is the movie version of the broadway musical "Wicked" and another one "Oz: The Return to Emerald City" where Dorothy's granddaughter goes back to Oz to fight evil.

If you want my opinion, I think this is all ridiculous. Studios only want to produce movies about L. Frank Baum's books because "Alice in Wonderland" raked in a lot of dough. I'm a hardcore Wizard of Oz fan, like I'm so obsessed with the film it's sick, and I hate the idea that all of a sudden everyone wants a piece of these stories. "The Wizard of Oz" was done perfectly 71 years ago and there is no reason to touch any part of it. People need to come up with more ideas and stories to work with so they can stop remaking every single thing out there. It is quite sad. What do you think about all the Wizard of Oz craziness?

Never Before Seen Star Wars Photos

Due to the recent Star Wars news and the fact that a few weeks ago was the 30th anniversary of the film "The Empire Strikes Back" I'm posting severeal photos that are very rare and have been released in the Entertainment Weekly magazine for April. Check out the photos below:

Star Wars in 3D?!

It has recently been announced that the "Star Wars" films will be released in box set on blu ray. It will be the 6 films along with a lot of extra features. No date on when this set will be out in stores but we are reassured that it "won't be in the too distant future."-Steve Sansweet Lucasfilm Director of Fan Relations.

Also in the not too distant future, the "Star Wars" films back into theaters but in 3D!!! George Lucas is interested in creating the movies with the 3D technology and re-releasing all 6 films in theaters. There is a lot of work and technology that has to be put into these films to create the 3D effect for the theaters but Lucas is very interested and willing to put the work into it.

Sounds awesome!

Beastly Trailer!!!

This film actually looks really good. I'm no Vanessa Hudgens fan but I definitely want to check this out July 30th!!! What do you think?!

Mark Hamill Comic

Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker, is in talks of directing a comic book movie. Hamill has created and written a comic entitled "The Black Pearl" about a guy named Luther Drake who is quite troubled and becomes a costumed vigilante by accident. Sounds a little like "Kick-Ass" but I'm sure it's different and unique in its own way. If Hamill can keeps it at a "low-budget" he will direct and have more creative control. He recently said this about the comic movie:
“My two co-writers wrote a David O. Russell film for Paramount,” he said, “and now they’re very hot. So now there are people who are willing to give us $30 million to make the movie. But if we took that deal, I wouldn’t get to direct."

“If you go over about $8 million, you have to start getting foreign sales before you start shooting. But if you stay in the $5-to-$7 million range, you don’t have to do presales and you can maintain much more creative control.”

Diaz and Del Toro

Cameron Diaz and Benecio Del Toro are starring in a romantic comedy together called "An Ex to Grind." It is based off a 2005 book that shares the same name. Apparently it's about a married couple who are quite equal until Del Toro's character gets injured and is limited to the couch so Diaz's character becomes the successful breadwinner of the house and decides to divorce Del Toro but later learns she will be paying the cost so she is on a search to find a woman to pay for his lavish lifestyle.

Sounds interesting, I think the pairing of Diaz and Del Toro is intriguing.

No follow up to Quantum of Solace?

Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have issued a statement that production of the next installment of the James Bond movies have been delayed until further notice. The statement is posted below:
"Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on 'Bond 23' indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of 'Bond 23.'"

That's unfortunate I liked Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Daniel Craig is a great Bond.

Kick-Ass, KICKED ASS!!!

The film, "Kick-Ass" directed by Matthew Vaughn, is based off of Mark Millar's comic book series that shares the same name. "Kick-Ass" takes place in present day in New York City and stars, Aaron Johnson, in the title role. Dave Lizewski, aka Kick-Ass, is a nerdy loser who isn't really good at anything and spends a lot of his time reading comic books with his two friends, Marty (Clark Duke) and Todd (Evan Peters). He gets this crazy idea to become a vigilante just like Batman and fight crime. So he orders a costume and a mask and soon realizes that he is in way over his head.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is the second installment in the Twilight franchise. It stars Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan and Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. Bella is your average teenager who moved to Forks to live with her dad, Chief of Police, Charlie Swan(Billy Burke) after her mom and step-dad went to Jacksonville, Florida. She loathed Forks, until she met Edward Cullen. The beautiful and perfect Edward Cullen. Not knowing why he is always absent on sunny days or why his eyes change color or why he is as cold as ice she falls deeply in love with him. After looking into his cold hands and strength, she learns that he is a Vampire. Knowing that he is a bloodsucking monster she still wants to be with him and only him. So, throughout all of "Twilight" they are together in love and of course have to deal with several speed bumps along the way. So, this chapter of the saga, "New Moon", Bella turns 18, technically 1 year older than Edward. She is afraid that she will keep getting older and Edward will always look like a 17 year old boy. Unless, she is turned into a Vampire. On her 18th birthday the Cullens hold a little birthday gathering at their house for Bella and give her gifts. Esme (Elizabeth Reaser) and Carlisle's (Peter Facinelli) gift winds up giving her a papercut. Ordinarily that would be nothing. But, to a house full of Vampires that could mean everything. One speck of blood, and Jasper(Jackson Rathbone) goes into attack mode. Edward pushes Bella back but she crashes into a glass table and her entire arm is now soaked in blood. Carlisle and Emmett(Kellan Lutz) try to hold Jasper back and Alice(Ashley Greene) finally calms him down but they all have to leave the room because the smell of blood could mean death for Bella. Carlisle is a doctor and is used to blood, most of the Cullens are, except really Jasper, he is a "newbie." Carlisle takes Bella and stitches up her arm. Edward is distraught over the pain Bella has to endure over things such as a minor papercut. After that fiasco, Edward decides that he is going to break up with Bella in order to protect her from getting hurt all the time.

500 Days of Summer

"500 Days of Summer" is not a romantic comedy. It's actually not really a love story at all, in my opinion. The film starts off with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tom Hansen, who was just dumped by the girl of his dreams and is breaking plates in his kitchen apartment. His two best friends can't get through to him, so they contact his younger sister to come and talk to him. She gets there and helps him stop breaking plates and then asks him to start from the beginning and tell her what happened between him and the girl of his dreams.

Tom is a guy who apparently believes wholeheartedly about love, destiny, fate and soul mates. He grew up thinking that there is one person for everyone and never found that person until Summer(Zooey Deschanel) came into his life. Summer thinks the complete opposite about love. She doesn't believe in it, any of it. Not of fate, destiny, or soul mates either. She is a child of divorce and from a young age knew that relationships were hard and complicated. So she lives her life never getting too attached to anyone, until Tom.

How to Train your Dragon

The animated Dreamworks film "How to Train your Dragon" is a wonderful story about a young viking, Hiccup, who just wants to be like everyone else, especially his Dad. In this film, vikings' main purpose in life are to kill dragons, but unfortunately Hiccup is this small, weak, gentle viking that couldn't hurt a fly. He in turn winds up befriending a rare dragon and realizing they aren't what he thought.

Clueless

Okay so since I wrote a review yesterday for the 90s film, "10 Things I Hate About You" I decided to write one about another classic 90s teen hit, "Clueless." I can see if you have never seen "10 Things I Hate About You" I'll let that slide, but if you have never seen "Clueless" there is something wrong with you.

Rachel Weisz as Jackie Kennedy?

Rachel Weisz is attached to star in the film "Jackie", about the immediate days following President Kennedy's assassination. "Jackie" will be directed by Weisz's fiance, Darren Aronofsky he will also be producing the film with his producing partner Scott Franklin and their Protozoa Pictures film company.
"Jackie" captures the four days between Kennedy's assassination and his burial, showing her at her most vulnerable time.

Wizard of Oz Munchkin has passed on, over the rainbow

Meinhardt Raabe, otherwise known as The Coroner Munchkin from the 1939 classic film "Wizard of Oz" passed away at the age of 94 on April 9, 2010 from a heart attack.
He is one of the more famous munchkins due to the fact that he sang the lines:
As coroner, I must aver
I thoroughly examined her.
And she’s not only merely dead,
She’s really most sincerely dead.
This was when they were all in Munchkin Land just finding out that the Wicked Witch of the East died.
Raabe, was not only an Oz munchkin but he was also the first Little Oscar, the mascot of the Oscar Mayer meat company. Also a skilled aviator, he served stateside in the Civil Air Patrol in World War II, by all accounts the smallest pilot in uniform, never surpassing the height of 4'7".
Raabe was present in 2007 when a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was unvieled for the Munchkins. There are only about 4 surviving munchkins left from the film.
Here he is in Sept 09 celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz at Tavern on the Green in Central Park, New York City.

Sigourney Weaver Speaks Out

Sigourney Weaver recently said in an interview that James Cameron didn't win the best directing Oscar for "Avatar" simply because, "Jim didn’t have breasts, and I think that was the reason,” Weaver told Folha Online. “He should have taken home that Oscar. In the past, Avatar would have won because they [Oscar voters] loved to hand out awards to big productions, like Ben-Hur. Today it’s fashionable to give the Oscar to a small movie that nobody saw.” Yikes. That's pretty harsh but I have to admit, she is so right. He definitely deserved the Oscar for the time, energy, thought, imagination, and skills he attainted to create a whole other world, language and even the creatures for "Avatar." Plus the movie was beyond amazing so that alone it should've won but I guess I'm biased. TEAM AVATAR ALL THE WAY <3

10 Things I Hate About You

The 1999 classic teen movie, "10 Things I Hate About You" stars Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, Larisa Oleynik, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Andrew Keegan, Gabrielle Union, and David Krumholtz. It is a movie that for some reason you can't just watch once. It is based off William Shakespeare's play "The Taming of the Shrew" but set in modern day at a California high school.

Paper Man Trailer

Paper Man stars Emma Stone, Jeff Daniels, Ryan Reynolds, and Lisa Kudrow. Its being released in limited theaters on April 23, 2010. It looks interesting!

Kevin Bacon and Steve Carell

Kevin Bacon will be joining directers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra in their latest film, which is an untitled Dan Fogelman-Steve Carell project.

The plot is based on Carell, whose wife (Julianne Moore) wants a divorce. To save their marriage, he uses a slick life coach (Ryan Gosling) to reform him.
Bacon will play a co-worker of Moore's, an alpha male who begins an affair with her.
Emma Stone and Analeigh Tipton co-star in the movie that starts shooting later this month.

Stuffed Animal Movie

Seth MacFarlane, creator of the hilarious animated television show, Family Guy, is now creating a film about a stuffed animal named "Ted." The film is written by MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin, and Wellesley Wild and it will be rated R. The lead charcter will be computer generated in a live action film, and MacFarlane will be the voice of "Ted."

Chace Crawford, star of the CW's Gossip Girl, has backed out on the musical, Footloose. The film, which is a remake of the 1984 classic starring Kevin Beacon, will now most likely have to search for an unknown for the role. Zac Efron was originally attached but he dropped out because he didn't want to be typecast as the "musical guy". Crawford had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with Gossip Girl.

Intruders

Clive Owen will be starring in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s next film, "Intruders" with Daniel Bruhl. Apparently its about an 11 year old girl who deals with childhood demons. Owen portrays her father. Filming will take place in London, in June.

Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer

Catch it in theaters April 30th!!!

Remember Me....how can I forget?

Robert Pattinson's newest film, "Remember Me," is incredible. I went into it thinking it was going to be a romantic drama between Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin, but it was so much more. It starts off gritty and intense with a little girl witnessing her mother's murder at a nearby subway station. It then flashes foward 10 years later with the little girl as a 21 yr old NYU student, named Ally and whose father is a cop. Switch to Pattinson's character, which is Tyler Hawkins, who lives in a dirty apartment with his best friend, Aiden (played by Tate Ellington) and who also attends NYU. One night after Tyler and Aiden go out drinking they witness some guys beating up a few other guys and Tyler steps in. The cops come to arrest everyone and when Tyler tries to explain to the cop that 2 guys are innocent the cop tells him to get lost. Tyler in turn gets violent and the cop retailiates and then arrests him. That cop is Stg Neil Craig, aka Ally's father, played by Chris Cooper. Aiden finds out that Stg. Craig has a daughter and convinces Tyler to date her to get back at her father. He does, but of course he falls for her. This film, isn't about their "romance" or them falling in love. It's about their relationships with the other people in their life and how to cherish and treasure every day of your life, because you never know when one day will be your last day.

Cowboys and Aliens

Jon Favreau's new film , "Cowboys and Aliens" is based off a comic book that so far only Olivia Wilde and Daniel Craig are cast. But apparently, their are rumors swirling that Hans Solo, im sorry I mean Indiana Jones, oops wrong again, Harrison Ford wants a piece of the action. I never read or even heard of the comic, but imdb.com says its about how Arizona Indians and Western settlers have to put their differences aside when aliens crash into their town. Sounds interesting, unfortunately its not out until July 2011!

Dying to know what "Inception" is about??

No one really knows what Christopher Nolan's new movie "Inception" is about, even the trailer doesn't give the audience much. But Nolan, recently gave an interview with a little bit of insight for us. This is what he said, “I originally wrote it as a heist movie and heist movies traditionally are very deliberately superficial in emotional terms. They’re frivolous and glamorous, and there’s a sort of gloss and fun to it. I originally tried to write it that way, but when I came back to it I realized that – to me – that didn’t work for a film that relies so heavily on the idea of the interior state, the idea of dream and memory. I realized I needed to raise the emotional stakes.” He also talked about Leonardo DiCaprio, the star of the movie, "I’ve incorporated a huge number of his ideas. Leo’s very analytical, particularly from character point of view but also how the entire story is going to function and relate to his character… I think it’s improved the project enormously. The emotional life of the character now drives the story more than it did before.” Apparently, DiCaprio's character, named Cobb, steals peoples ideas from their brains by drugging them, for money. Sounds interesting. Look for it in theaters July 16th!!!

What do you think?

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Pictures!!!

On June 18, 2010 The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will finally be open!!! Here are some pictures of the theme park:

Clash of the Titans: Don't Bother

The film "Clash of the Titans" is unfortunately, a huge disappointment. The film is a remake of the 1981 film directed by Desmond Davis, that shares the same title.  The film starts out with a married couple on a boat at night who discover a coffin in the ocean. They crack it open to find a dead woman and a baby that is still alive. They take the baby and raise it as their own and call him, Perseus. Years later, due to unforeseen events, Perseus must rise against the Gods and Zeus's brother, Hades, to gain justice and save the city of Argos, but its quite a boring fight.
